Hypocrisy in Vermont

You might want to check thse numbers and see if your town is one of the CHEAP towns that say they support the Vets…

From the Vermont Loon Watch:

With property taxes going out of control, disabled vets usually living on fixed incomes are on the very edge. Some of these are WWII, some Korean War, who knows when or where they served.

The numbers of vets in the towns are low; the money value to the towns isn’t high. To a Vet 50% service connected disabled or greater that can be the difference between making an insurance payment for the house or car or having lunch. Who knows!

What about it Lincoln, only $10,000 exemption instead of the $40,000 for 3 Vets! YOU as a town can’t afford the money?

These aren’t the self serving welfare whiners you see on TV. I can’t believe any of them are glad they are disabled.

How would I know? I have a 30% service connected disability since 2003 (Agent Orange) and it totally altered my life.

I’d trade it away in a moment to have movement and the ability to stand and walk without pain. To be rid of the needles and pills and the worry of going blind.

  1. Unreal.
I guess though if perhaps you can say that in actuality you slipped across the border from San Lupiee in the dark of night…..you’ll be all set!

    P.S.
I diggin’ the new look! Very Nice.

  2. When you are talking about the first $40,000 of assessed value for at the most 5 vets in one town, this isn’t a bank breaker. This is affordable, cost to each town may come to $600 per vet. Maybe more depending on the town maybe less.

These towns treat the illegals better.
