Living somewhere most of your life has advantages for an artist; one gets to know where to be at what time of day and what time of year to capture the photograph. Now that may sound easy, but much serendipity plays a role too. Would that truck and car happen to come along right then? Would the light over the barn door still be on? Four minutes later and the sun would be over the mountain. Two weeks later and the sun will have moved farther north and rising earlier. All changes the ‘magic’ tat goes into making the image. More often than not, something doesn’t happen and the ‘perfect’ moment becomes mundane.
