Byways and railroads

Some of the farm roads wander back and forth sort of paralleling Rte 7 from Middlebury to Vergennes. Wandering along these roads covers everything from dairy to chicken farms. The Vermont Railroad runs up from Rutland to Burlington along this corridor too. Back at the turn of the last century, some of the larger farms might have had a siding for delivery of feed and supplies by rail.
Here one of the Peddler freights is crossing Old Jerusalem Road in Leicester.

About Vermont Woodchuck

Professional Photojournalist since 1969 with a BFA from SUNY Purchase 1979-Visual Arts. I despise advocacy news journalism. Every photojournalist should be prepared to show their camera RAW images of news events. Reason: RAW images cannot be altered no matter what is done to the finished product.
