Last legs

A home for field mice, garden snakes and farm cats, this old barn didn’t have many more winters left in it’s uprights. A search on Google Earth shows that is succumbed either to gravity or good sense. As Vermont dairy farmers grew older, the kids didn’t want to work the hours, so the cows were sold and the fields were put to hay as a cash crop. Vermont now has quite a few of decrepit barns to view along with your autumn leaves.Old barn Little Chicago Road and Hawkins Road Ferrisburgh, Vermont 02/25/2007

About Vermont Woodchuck

Professional Photojournalist since 1969 with a BFA from SUNY Purchase 1979-Visual Arts. I despise advocacy news journalism. Every photojournalist should be prepared to show their camera RAW images of news events. Reason: RAW images cannot be altered no matter what is done to the finished product.
