The Green Mountain Flyer #3

The terminus of the Flyer’s trip comes into sight with the arrival at the Chester Station. The last car on the train will be clear of the crossing; up the tracks is the turnout for the runaround that takes the engine back down to get on the main below the consist.Green Mt. Flyer
Once the train has stopped, and passengers have gotten off, the engine decouples, pulls up and then enters the runaround track for passage to the main down past the station and the consist.Green Mt. Flyer
This runaround is long since some of the trains were also freight and the peddler freights had to be able to shuffle the cars.Green Mt. Flyer
Getting the engine back to coupling has to be more gentle than with a freight consist since there are some people that remained onboard.Green Mt. Flyer
What is left is to connect the air hose and check the coupling and the turn around is complete.
