Burn off

Getting fields ready for planting requires a bit of work, not just discing under winter cover but in some cases burning off fields that were fallow for a year or two. The ash is good fertilizer; one danger of a big burn is having it get out of control. Fire departments will help by sending a truck and manpower for training and to make sure the fire doesn’t get out of control. Looks bad but it’s isn’t all that big.Cornwall FD grass fire drillRte. 125, Cornwall Vermont 05/08/2007

About Vermont Woodchuck

Professional Photojournalist since 1969 with a BFA from SUNY Purchase 1979-Visual Arts. I despise advocacy news journalism. Every photojournalist should be prepared to show their camera RAW images of news events. Reason: RAW images cannot be altered no matter what is done to the finished product.
