Here is silence defined

One of the surprises to visitors to Vermont is the amount of water found in the woods, on the hillsides and even on the mountains. Everything from brooklets to swampy areas to large ponds are everywhere. In summer ducks, especially wood ducks frequent these waters since there is food available. Winter brings about a change; these places become quiet. Solitude settles in for the time, waiting for the cold to coat the surface with ice. No birds chirping, squirrels are in nests. Very little moves except a wind annoyed stubborn leaf still on a tree or field mice searching for that lost pine seed.Settling in for winter (01)Burke Rd, near Parks Rd. Orwell VT 11/08/2008

About Vermont Woodchuck

Professional Photojournalist since 1969 with a BFA from SUNY Purchase 1979-Visual Arts. I despise advocacy news journalism. Every photojournalist should be prepared to show their camera RAW images of news events. Reason: RAW images cannot be altered no matter what is done to the finished product.
